Moleskine® Folio Paper Review

Folio Moleskine Printable PaperI could not wait for the mail to arrive. I had ordered the Moleskine® Folio Paper from Amazon early last week and I checked the mailbox daily with great anticipation.

And on Friday it arrived!

Why had I bought it. Well, as you know, I like the Moleskine® Product range a lot and as I had run out of my Basildon Bond paper which I just cannot get for a decent price here in Switzerland, the new paper from Moleskine® just came at the right time.

It comes with the same typical rounded corners, at 100 g/m2 weight of acid free paper in a pack of 50 sheets in the typical cream colour, my favourite colour for stationary. To me cream colour has class. It is also FSC certified. So I just to test it. It does not have a watermark as the Basildon Bond but for me, knowing it is from my favourite Italian brand, it works just as well without it.

I opened the pack when it arrived. Do you smell a new book when you open it? I do, I just love the smell of fresh print and when I opened the Moleskine® paper, there it was again, the fresh smell of paper, very similar to the smell of a newly opened Moleskine® notebook. Call my crazy but I love a nice smell of paper.

I had created my own letterhead for my stationary some time ago and I had printed my first 15 sheet while I was in the office. I just could not wait to get home, get out my Fountain Pen and write my first letter on the Moleskine® Paper. I was so much hoping that it wouldn’t bleed through and with 100g/m2 of weight, I am very pleased with it. I have tested two of my fountain pens so far, my Cross Townsend Medalist Fountain Pen and my Waterman Urban Nomad. For the Cross Fountain Pen I use blue ink and for the Waterman Fountain Pen I use the lovely Havanna coloured ink. Although I had never had big problems with my Fountain Pens in my Moleskine® notebooks, I was still wondering how it would work on the printable paper. I am so pleased, that none is bleeding through.

Tomorrow the first letter on the Moleskine® paper will go out in the mail. I am very pleased with my experience so far – I love the paper!!! I am so glad to have found my new Letter-Writing paper both for handwritten letters and all the printed letters alike.
Just one thing could make the experience even better: a Moleskine® envelope :-)

Happy Writing.
