Today I want to feature a site I have come across recently. As it is a Letter Writing Project I like it very much and so I have to bring your attention to it in the hope you will join in.
The name is “2011 Letter Project 2011” as was started by Renee for her three children. Here is her introduction to her blog:
“We are a homeschool family trying to collect 2,011 letters from around the world by Dec. 31.We are using this to help us learn about others both far and near.I want to open the world to my daughters and show them that there is more to the world than what we see.I want them to learn about other cultures, other traditions, other languages, etc.I want them to learn what a textbook cannot teach them about humanity.”
Isn’t this just a fantastic idea?!
By the time I started writing this post, they had received 22 letters – by far not enough to get to the 2011 letters by the end of this year. Will you join in and maybe also share this with your friends and family?
It reminds me of a time when letter writing was a much more utilized way of sharing and exchanging not only information but also thoughts, feelings and emotions.
I had picked up my letter writing last year again and it feels good to find others who also share the love of writing letters and receiving a return answer. What are your thoughts on letter writing?
