Here is my dilemma – I love the 18 months Moleskine® planner in large size. The issue I have with it, is that the new 18 months planner always comes out after 12 months, meaning I can never use the full 18 months.
As I also carry a second large Moleskine® with me for my journaling, I am now wondering – in an attempt to reduce the weight of me bag – if I should switch to another planner …. BUT WHICH ONE?
Will I stick to the 18months planner? Most likely yes, as I do not like to start a new planner in January which means I have to set up the new planner already during December (adding birthdays etc.). December is already busy enough with all the other preparations for Year End, don’t you agree?! And as the 18 months planner always starts in July it seems to be the perfect choice.
Will I stick to the large size? Well, this is now an interesting questions and here are my thoughts:
Large size:
- I like the large size as it allows me to do a lot of writing. I use the weekly version which has all the days on the left page and the right page is free for my notes which I use a lot.
- The large format also allows me to add any other papers just behind the front cover, such as invoices that need to be paid, or any other papers.
- The large format makes it also easier to write it. When it’s open all pages are flat and allow easy writing without the need to actually hold the notebook in place with your other hand.
Pocket Size
- The pocket size is less heavy to carry around, but
- does not allow me to add any other papers so easily (although I could put those easily in my large size journal
- is too light for easy writing and will slither over the desk or needs to be held firm with the other hand.
Do you see my dilemma?
In an attempt to decide I took out the Pocket size I had bought by mistake about 2 years ago and had a good look at it. While I like the smaller format for easy carrying I am not so sure about the overall size of the fields, the labels etc and as my handwriting is not the smallest and I prefer at least medium sized nibs, it looks at this point of time I will need to stick to the large size planner. It it not yet fully decided …. what are your thoughts? Feel free to share them …..
