Doing what you love

“Do you know what you want to become when you are grown up?” I am sure we all were asked this very same question when we were young. Go back in time and think, did you have an answer for this question or did you need some time to think about an answer? Was it one of those great dreams, like a fireman, a teacher or a rock star? What about the answer to the same question no? With age not only our tastes are changing but also our view of the world and our goals.

Here is the most important lesson I have learned during my career: do what you love to do!

Why is this important do you ask? I believe that if you enjoy what you do, be it your job or something a home, a hobby for example, you end up being happy in more ways than one. Life itself becomes much more interesting and fun! You will also note that you start talking very passionately to others about what you do and the experiences you have over time will become much more rewarding and will enrich you life in many many ways. This will also attract fascinating people. You might also be able to turn a hobby of yours into a successful business. Many have done it, sometimes for sure sacrificed a paycheck for happinees, but none of them have ever regretted it and had given up. Their passion carried them through to success.

While no job or business is perfect, the important thing is to enjoy it, even learn from it. If you are unhappy in your current situation, why not take steps now to change it?

Somewhere out there is a job (or business) that is perfect for you. If you are already there, I applaud you. If not, realize that it may take some time to figure out what you really want to do, and even more time to actually get there. That is all right! I can tell you from experience that finding and doing what you love is absolutely worth it, every step of the way. All of the research, training, and hands-on experience has made me a stronger, happier person. Feeling in charge of my own destiny’s well, there just is no greater feeling.

Do what you love, and love what you do, whatever that may be. You will be happier for it, trust me. I promise you will never look back.
