Yesterday I have come across this site here and I have to say it looks very intruiging: The Pomodor Technique®.

This technique was created by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s as a “way to get the most out of time management” … with the intention to “turn time into a valuable ally to accomplish what we want to do and chart continuous improvement in the way we do it.”

All you need is this:

  • a kitchen timer
  • a sheet of paper
  • a pencil (and eraser)

It sounds so easy! There are 5 steps to follow:

  1. Choose a task to be accomplished
  2. Set the Pomodoro (your kitchen timer) to 25 minutes
  3. Work on the task until the Pomodoro rings, then put a check on your sheet of paper
  4. Take a short break (5 minutes is OK)
  5. Every 4 Pomodoros take a longer break

.

Again It sounds so simple and therefore I have downloaded the free eBook from the site with the working sheets and will work through it over the next few days. Once I have a better understanding I will post an update. In the meantime:

Do you know the Pomodoro Technique®? Have you tried it for yourself? What is your experience? Please share it here.
